The Backflow Prevention Refresher Course is a one-day course with a mix of classroom based theory, to make sure you have the latest industry knowledge and best practice, and also hands on practical learning and assessment. It will ensure you still have all the skills and knowledge required to test and inspect backflow devices.
To attend this refresher course you must have already completed the Backflow Prevention - Full 3 Day Course and hold the prerequisite NZQA Unit Standards. It assumed that you regularly carry out testing on backflow devices and know how to test these. We recommend this refresher course is done at least every three years.
The course is designed to keep you up to date with the latest industry knowledge and best practice, and to ensure you maintain your practical testing skills. This is a one-day course with a mix of classroom based theory, and also hands on practical learning and assessment.
On this course you will be practically assessed to ensure you still have the skills and knowledge required to test and inspect backflow devices. The course is just a refresher and no unit standards are awarded from this training.
The prerequisite for the Refresher course is to have previously done the Backflow Prevention – Full 3 Day Course, and hold NZQA Unit Standards 23847 and 23848. If you have not previously done this training with us you will be required to provide evidence of this before you can complete your enrolment on the course.
People who have previously completed the Backflow Prevention - Full 3 Day Course, this may include Plumbers, Council engineers and contractors (installers, regulators and maintenance), Compliance officers, Water treatment operators, and Irrigation personnel (designers, installers and maintenance) or anyone wanting to retain or renew their IQP registration for work on backflow devices.
