MGD Chair Certification and Recertification Course 2023

The aim of the Chair Recertification course is to enable Chairs whose certification expires to gain re-certification and for potential new Chairs to gain endorsement. Develop the skills and behaviours required of a Chair, also share your experiences and gain knowledge from other Chairs.

Description

The MGD Chair Recertification course covers six modules presented over a one day workshop.

Module 1 - The Competent Chair

Module 2 - Types of Hearings

Module 3 - Difficult People and Difficult Situations

Module 4 - Roundtable discussion.

Module 5 - Hearing Preparation, Procedural Rules and the Powers of the Chair

Module 6 - Decision Making

Assessment information

There is a written pre assessment that is required to be completed prior to attendance of the course workshop and a post assessment required to be successfully completed after the course to gain Chair certification.

Prerequisites

Must already hold valid Panel or Chair Certification.

To attend an interactive online course you will need the following:

Access to Microsoft Teams
A laptop or computer to use on the day (Tablets or IPads are not suitable)
Headset and microphone to allow you to contribute to the course.
