WSP, and prior to this Opus, originated from the former New Zealand Ministry of Works and Development. This is where we have inherited our strong commitment to training with over 120 years of infrastructure development experience based on a multi-disciplinary team. The Environmental Training Centre (ETC) is part of this proud heritage, with a history spanning more than 50 years of delivering environmental training to a wide range of groups. The Environmental Training Centre is registered with NZQA as a ‘Private Training Establishment’. It was originally established to provide locally developed qualifications for the water industry. The extent of services delivered by ETC has expanded significantly to cover a broad range of environmental courses and qualifications.
These have included:
Our trainees are drawn from all areas of the environmental management industry including regional councils, territorial authorities, consultants, suppliers, contractors, government agencies and scientists. A strong emphasis is placed on responding to industry needs and demand for training. Where there is a need or demand, training can be specifically designed and developed by ETC. We are therefore fully accustomed to developing training material as well as delivering and assessing courses to a broad range of people from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of experience.
