Principles and Trends Water Treatment

The Principles and Trends of Water Treatment is a 4 Day course developed for those working in the water treatment field and covers the fundamentals of water treatment sciences and processes.

Description

This course has been delivered for more than 15 years and has been a useful development process for engineers, operators and those new to water treatment processes. 

Course content covers:

  • Water use and characteristics
  • Health Act and DWSNZ
  • Public Health Risk Management plans and sanitary surveys
  • Processes: pre treatment; coagulation and flocculation; separation; filtration; disinfection; waste management; pH correction; plumbosolvency; impact of reticulation systems and taste & odour and flouridation
  • Small water systems and bottled water (Food Act)

Assessment information

This is an introductory course and a certificate of attendance will be awarded on completion. CPD points available for Water Industry Professionals (WIPA) members.
