Principles and Trends - Wastewater Treatment is a classroom based course developed for those interested in wastewater treatment. Over four busy days experts from WSP cover core wastewater treatment science and processes, and recent changes to legislation, illustrated by visits to operating treatment plants. This course finishes at 12.00pm on the last day.

Description

This course has evolved over more than 15 years into a broad introduction to wastewater, including major recent changes in policy, for those new to wastewater treatment processes and those that wish to catch up with recent changes.

Course content covers:

  • Wastewater characteristics and biology
  • Wastewater treatment from pre-treatment to final disposal including primary, secondary and tertiary processes, sludge management, waste stabilisation ponds, on-site wastewater systems, anaerobic treatment
  • Longer term trends
  • Field trip to a treatment plant
  • Regulation/compliance and water reform
  • Efficiency with a spotlight on Carbon emissions

Compliance and trade waste officers, consent planners, engineers, asset managers, plant, contract and project managers, operators, customer service people, equipment suppliers - anyone who requires an excellent introduction to Wastewater Treatment.
