The aim of the course is to enable Chairs whose certification expires to gain re-certification and for potential new Chairs to gain endorsement, develop the skills and behaviours required of a Chair and to share your experiences and gain knowledge from other Chairs.

This course offers to equip employees in the pipeline installation and maintenance industry with the essential skills and knowledge to ensure the effective disinfection of water reticulation pipework. This is a new NZQA micro-credential qualification (Level 3, 10 credits) that will enable learners to gain an understanding of pathogens, chlorination and dechlorination processes, water quality monitoring, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Over four busy days experts from WSP cover core water treatment science and processes, and recent changes to legislation, illustrated by visits to operating treatment plants.

Waste Stabilisation Ponds remain the most common form of wastewater treatment in New Zealand. However, entry-level training for operators of Waste Stabilisation Ponds ended with significant changes to New Zealand Wastewater qualifications in 2019. WSP has recognised the need for qualification-based training by developing the new Certificate in Waste Stabilisation Ponds (Micro-credential), Level 3, 20 credits.
