Waste Stabilisation Ponds remain the most common form of wastewater treatment in New Zealand. However, entry-level training for operators of Waste Stabilisation Ponds ended with significant changes to New Zealand Wastewater qualifications in 2019. WSP has recognised the need for qualification-based training by developing the new Certificate in Waste Stabilisation Ponds (Micro-credential), Level 3, 20 credits.

The Panel Recertification course now has the option of an Interactive Online course with a mix of online activities and live sessions run through MS Teams throughout the day. The aim of the course is to share knowledge and experiences gained since attendance of a prior course and to ensure your knowledge is up to date with legislative changes and case law decisions. It will also help further develop the range of complex skills required to be a successful Panel member.

The Chair Certification and Recertification course is now available to be completed online with a mix of online activities and live MS Teams sessions on the day you have registered for. The aim of the course is to enable Chairs whose certification expires to gain re-certification and for potential new Chairs to gain endorsement, develop the skills and behaviours required of a Chair and to share your experiences and gain knowledge from other Chairs.

The Backflow Prevention full 4 day course is delivered with a blend of classroom based theory and hands on practical learning. The course involves both theory and practical assessment to relevant NZQA unit standards. Successful completion of the course will allow people to apply to the relevant local authority and register with them to become an Independently Qualified Person (IQP) to carry out backflow work in that area.

The Backflow Prevention Refresher Course is a one-day course with a mix of classroom based theory, to make sure you have the latest industry knowledge and best practice, and also hands on practical learning and assessment. It will ensure you still have all the skills and knowledge required to test and inspect backflow devices.
